Sharing tips for avoiding any sort of damage to the car, you, and your car wash equipment while using it for cleaning the car.

Step-by-step instructions:

    Rinse off the DIRT:

The very first step you need to start from is rinsing away the top layer of dirt, dust, and grime. If you are conducting the car cleaning process using a machine with variable jet spray, you need to adjust it to a spray limit of approx 5 to 8cm wide. Let your spray be strong enough for cleaning the car but not harsh over car paint as it can remove paint or can leave scratch marks over car paint. Once done with the body parts, then turns up the need for cleaning windows so, for that, you need a bit wider and less strong setting. Always remember that the spray force of a car washing machine should be less while cleaning windows, lights, and any other fragile areas.

    Apply Mild Soap or Detergent:

Set the nozzle of the car washer to the least and widest powerful settings- or removing altogether. These settings will be even required for coating a layer of detergent over the entire car. Let it sit for a few minutes but don’t let it dry as it will leave blemishes that will have to be scuffed off later. Wash off the detergent to see the magic.

Loosen the stubborn grease and dirt

Using an attachable car brush, loosen the dirt and grease. This attachable car brush helps you in easing your car cleaning task. If you are using the same brush to clean the complete car, then it is advised to clean the wheels and wheel arches at last as there exist maximum chances of brush picking up dirt, and grit particles. Thoroughly brush once you have finished cleaning chores for ensuring the complete removal of dirt and grime.

    Rinse off the car thoroughly

Again, using stronger settings rinse off the car. If you are not having any variable nozzle for adjusting the spray’s power and width, then simply increase the distance between the car and you for preventing any damage to the car.

Do’s:
Look for the initial water burst which comes out of car washer when it is turned on for the first time.

If you are washing the car using a car washer, try to conduct the process on concrete flooring rather than a gravel driveway. This will reduce the possibility of flying up of stones and hitting up the car paint.

Ensure that the windows are properly closed and even check out interior to for confirming that doors don’t have any leaking seals.

Don't:
Use a tornado nozzle attachment when car cleaning as it will be too hard and strong which can lead to car paint damage.

Use a strong spray over the chipped paint areas as it could strip away more paint.

Use high spray features on old tires can lead to exploding them.

Point directly the spray at panel gaps for a long time as these areas might be more susceptible for any leakage.

Difference between dual action polisher and buffer

For any customer who is new to the car detailing world, these technical words like polishers and buffers might be a bit confusing. This highlights the reality that buffing and polishing, both processes are for improving the surface of the car. So, it is very important to know the difference between a car polisher and a buffer. Read on.

What works Dual Action Polisher perform?

Polishing is a process that involves the usage of products that contains certain abrasives to remove imperfections. The abrasive method restores car paint and highlights luster.

Whereas, buffering modifies and enhances car paint or car coating. Using a buffer needs the usage of the waxing compound for smoothening the targeted surfaces.

In essence, both of the steps need altering and cleaning the very slim layer of the metallic or painted surface. The purpose of both is to remove superficial damage, imperfection, and small scratches. With both methods capable of gaining similar results, the differences between car polishers and buffers seem as clear and thin paint layers.

For buffing and polishing, there are two similar pieces of equipment preferred by professional detailers. One of the professional machines is a dual action polisher and the other one is a rotary buffer.

The Zentool Dual Action Polisher:

This machine is best suited for removing or buffing light scratches over the clear coat. It is known as dual action due to the pads spin and brushes in two different methods. The orbiting or rotating pads generate what many people refer to as wobbling or jiggling motion. The uneven pad movement prevents pads from a long stay at a single position and points over an extended time because of which the heat and friction are reduced. If the motion is not controlled, it will lead to the removal of car paint or the burning of car paint below the clear car coating. The heat of the wobbling motion is more than enough to correct the light paint scratches, blemishes, or any imperfections.

Select a Dual Action Polisher for:

Removing light paint scratches or any swirls
    Maintaining a clear coat.
Buffing soft metals that can be scratched easily.
Enhancing the texture of car paint.

The same safety measures are needed to reduce the damage possibly caused by the dual-action car polisher. Using a car polisher for car cleaning and car maintenance purpose is much safe as it doesn’t generate enough heat to affect the car paint.

Buffer’s Rotary Polisher:

This is the most important detailing tool in the car detailing industry. It is best suited for removing deep scratches, oxidations, and swirl marks. This is only possible because of the high heat generated by the spinning pads. The buffer must be placed in constant circular motion and this is the reason why it is termed as a circular buffer. Using this can be effective only when it is moved in overlapping movement and that too in the direction of left to right and then shifting to up and down motion. This motion direction prevents the spinning pads from staying at a point that maintains the required friction. Always remember that any wrong or inexperienced hands can lead to damage.
